Ok, let me start from the beginning of the day. After getting to bed after 1:00 AM due to work, I was forced to get up at 6:00 AM to help get the little one ready for school. So with only a couple of hours of sleep, once I put my 7 year old on the bus I ate and dressed for the gym.
Since I ran, well sort of, yesterday. I planned last night on doing the elliptical for 30 minutes to warm up and working my legs. Let me tell you, work them I did. Once my 30 minutes of aerobics was done, I hit the abductor machine and worked my inside and outside leg muscles. Then I proceeded to move into the weight room.
I grabbed two 5 lb dumbbells, stepped between two benches and proceeded to do squats. One set of 20 reps, 20 reps half, 20 reps full. Then same cycle with plies. Then I stacked a step five risers high and did two sets each leg of 12 reps step-ups. Legs were actually feeling really good.
After putting the step away I went over to this stationary machine for which I have no clue what to call it. All I know is you step onto it and lean forward. There are pads that hold you up by your quads and you bend forward and pull yourself back up by your lower back and glutes. I did two sets of 12 reps.
By this time I decided I was done with that and glided over to the matt to do abs and stretching. At this point I was still feeling really good, that is until I was ready to leave and walked down the steps. Yeah… I definitely worked my legs.
Once I got back home and showered I left again to meet my sister for our annual sushi trip for my birthday. We always go the Friday around my birthday. Well this trip’s sushi was no disappointment and since we were feeling brave she ordered Nigori. I had no clue what this was so it was explained to us it was milky sweet sake. Oh WhatEver! It tasted like beer mixed with a 1% milk chaser. Seriously! It was nooooooot good!
Believe it or not it actually put a white film on my tongue. All I can say is EKK! So to get rid of that strange after taste in my mouth we decided to go grab a cosmo. Much better!
